I'm not sure anyone really knows where the flashpoint is

Remember when unemployment kept falling through the late 80's and 90's and economists kept expecting that inflation would spike...U fell to 6.0%...then 5.5%...then 5.0%...then 4.5%...and the way down to 3.8% during the 2nd Clinton administration, and...no spike in inflation!

Real gains in employment during the 1st Bush administration are a bit unclear, as the Dept of Labor's business payroll survey (job loss of 2 million+) and the household survey (small net job gain) are giving very different figures. Both however are in agreement in showing recent, accelerating gains, and Bush will undoubtedly be the beneficiary. With the economy gathering real strength, and the majority of Americans clearly supporting Bush in the war on terrorism, many moderate Democrats have already written off Howard Dean's bizarre, suicidal campaign, and are looking forward to 2008. Dean seems to be trapped by his and his supporters radical left wing rhetoric. He doesn't even have enough sense to exploit the Clinton economic record - instead he attacks and antagonizes the moderate DNC Democrats who worked with Clinton in the 1990's. When's the last time an angry left wing pessimist was elected President? Never.
