Once again, you're proving yourself clueless about space systems. Beagle 2 essentially got a free ride on the Mars Express satellite which cost over $300 million (and is working well). Were that not the case, then Beagle 2 would've have to have it's own propulsion, TT&C, electrical, attitude control, and navigation systems to handle the trip from Earth to Mars. All of that would've driven up the costs of Beagle 2 substancially. It would've also had to pay the full cost of the launch, which cost over $40 million each for the two MER landers. In the end, the design flaws of the Beagle 2 reentry and landing system would've still doomed it.
This stuff IS rocket science.

Beagle 2 was a secondary payload

- Thanks, Tom. This is really great news. (n/t)
- Wow! Where Beagle fails, NASA succeeds
- While this is a great success, I'd just as soon not pour any more salt on the wounds of the Beagle team. (n/t)
