Only a moron could think otherwise.

I read somewhere that Beagle only used 3 air bags (1 on 3 sides) compared to 24 (6 on 4 sides) for the pathfinder MER rovers. I think most people can grasp how different the results would be on these two types of systems if just one air bag was popped. You don't need to be able to follow Gary's complex aerospace calculations to understand that was cutting corners - high risk design.
