I am way behind the curve on how pictures are taken on probes now. I remember Viking's scanning technique. Is the "shutter speed" of whatever they're using now sufficient for taking pictures of transient phenomena like dust devils?
I note the streaks are almost linear, compared to other dust devil trails I have seen that are very random and squiggly. That's why I didn't think of dust devils right off.
