thanks for the link - I wasn't aware of this mission .. the 'super-rover' first mentioned here by dtb
..at first sight the landing scheme looks incredibly delicate (lowering the rover at 1 m/s using a tether attached to a stable hovering platform - at a distant planet, with wind condtions ..?? Wow..
Then again, MER is brought to a complete hovering stop in 6 minutes from 20000 kph, so maybe the guys who did that will do the same for the 2009 MSLM
