How secure is the idea of making and storing fuel or oxidizer (I can't remember which component is supposed to be manufactured on a Mars Direct plan...) on Mars? I realize that all the raw materials are present on Mars, but it seems the actual process of making and storing the product can only by tested by actually doing the process on Mars. How robust is that process?
