This gives me a lot of mixed feelings. A number of the points he makes about Bush's environmental record are true but I take issue with his new anti-space stance. I am an environmentalist in principle, but Gore has it very wrong here. I think even he knows it but is playing election year politics. NASA was under this guy's perview for 8 years. He used to talk up the benefits of the space program. This crap really leaves a bad taste. The Democratic party will now apparently become the party of the earth firsters. Anything to get Bush, even killing perhaps the one truly great thing he has done. It sucks big time.
In the long run the way to save the environment is to move pollution creating industry into space. In the long run the way to end poverty is to exploit the riches of the asteroids. Let's get on with it!
