A democratic party that presented itself as mature and actually consistent on national security , and not more concerned with what the french think than US priorities, could be very attractive.
But that would be a big break with democrat culture of the past 20+ years.
Fiscally, Bush is going to have a very narrow window in which to regain credibility on the issue.
Imagine a party that would respect our borders and security and spend and tax prudently...not jsut starve programs or soak the rich, but actually spread the load. With the current Admin., we are are close in many ways but far away in others.
But will Kerry offer this to America? Or that ambulance chaser?
