I propose:
'Responding aggressively to claims of falsehood or poor ethics on the part of someone we politically favor, while never referring to the allegation itself or admitting that the allegation was made. Trying to shift the discussion to other things and blaming the media coverage of the alleged transgression on people who should not have covered it.'
If we can agree on that, I can find several examples pretty easily.
