You could hit a golf ball forever there and never escape... just go all the way around and end up right back where you started.
I hear people calling for infrastructure, not flags & footprints. The Mars Rovers (two of them!) was the last thing on the news today, a 30-second spot. It's last in the headlines, even behind entertainment. It is not considered unimportant, but let's face it, I could get advanced degrees, campaign among political leaders and industry, and I'll still never get into low-earth orbit.
I could be just as enthusiastic about Puff the Magic Dragon. But does it pay? Can one earn a living doing this? Perhaps I could sell a few childrens books, but that's pretty much what "space" is all about anyway, selling books and other things.
