Another analogy.
Has anyone here ever used a grinder on metal parts? After lots of grinding, the floor is covered with a carpet of fine metal filings. It's some very cohesive stuff, and will scrunch up when moved, or leave very defined imprints when stepped on. Considering the amount of iron oxide on the surface, could this odd acting "dirt" be composed of iron dust or filings?
