They sent him, after all. No surprise there - Wilson is a career diplomat and an acknowledged Africa expert.

In the article I linked, above, Wilson articulated quite clearly, I think, the reasons he had for reaching his conclusion that there was no substance to the Niger yellowcake story. And there is also the niggling little fact that he was correct in his assessment.

And while I'm at it; take a look again at the date -- Feb' 2002, and the CIA arranged Wilson's trip at the request of Vice-pres. Cheney to look into the Niger yellowcake angle.

Need I spell it out for you?
