re: hopeless

Frankly, I wouldn't lose a minute of sleep if someone dropped a load of ordnance on Kim Jong. And there's a few others nobody would miss either. But that's a different situation.

And if we do any planet wide house-keeping, it should be with international concensus.

I cannot wrap my brain around this bizarre concept. I think you have to be a collectivist to promote the notion that bombing a nation, invading with tanks, and taking out a tyrant, is a moral thing only if you do it as a group. And not just any group, since we did go in with many other nations, but one approved by the Left and forces of political correctness.

Do you understand how feeble that idea is when you actually think about it a while?

If the French had bombed Baghdad with us, then the civilian casualties would have been all right. Is that how it works? Or maybe with French bombers, there wouldn't have been any casualties. And with French and U.N. soldiers in the field alongside after the major combat was over, none of these nasty insurgents would have dared to do anything.

If we need the blessing of the U.N. to accomplish what needs to be done without being condemned by people like you, maybe in the future we should just have Kofi Annan stand before our troops and absolve them of all sin for future atrocities, like the Pope used to do with the Crusaders hundreds of years ago.
