Libya disarming, and a Pakistani nuclear arms ring breaking down. Undercurrents of democracy surging in Iran and now even Syria. Pakistan and Saudi Arabia seemingly finally cracking down on terror.

I suppose it's possible that all this would be happening with our military out of the Mideast and Saddam still firmly in power.

But I don't think so.
