Apples and Oranges

This is what I get cross about in your calculations, SM. You don't listen (read) and you don't think. Mark already suggested quite strongly that there is a difference between fuel waste and structural waste.

What do you think is the commercial lifetime of those 230 fusion powerplants?

What will happen to their radioactive structures when they are decommissioned?

How much radioctive mass is entombed in Chernobyl today?

If you want to compare operating waste/kwh with operating waste/kwh, then do so. Otherwise, compare total lifetime waste, and normalise by power output.

Apples with apples, please...

(you may still find that this experimental reactor has a shorter lifetime and less power output than a third-generation fusion plant, but you should also count the skeletons of all the research plants and 1st & 2nd gen fission plants around the world before you crow...)
