Irrelevant.

I'm not talking about people who have handicaps, or are elderly. I'm talking about people who can't be bothered to use their brains.

At my polling places, back when we used punch cards, there were special booths and equipment for people with visual or other handicaps. My wife used them. The people working at the polls will assist those who have trouble. A relative or other assistant is permitted to actually go into the booth to help someone who may need it. Checking for hanging or badly punched chads was a childishly simple process. A spoiled or incorrectly-punched ballot could be instantly replaced.

And yes, we had butterfly ballots. And no, figuring them out was not brain surgery.

And this doesn't even count the possibility of obtaining and filling out at home and at your leisure, a mail-in ballot.

To screw up your vote under these conditions, you have to almost be trying. And frankly, most of the "spoiled" or "oddball" ballots under these conditions are just people who don't bother to pay attention or think.
