I have no love for Islam, as an atheist, I think it is as sane as any other religion... the problem is the extremists... Extremists come from politics using religion.... all religions generally have, at their core, the same good message... it is how it is perverted by evil people that screws it up...

The teachings of the bible and the koran are not much different... except in minor details.... both have "holy acts" that would be considered crimes against humanity today...

what I hope is that we just accept that these religions are just an old way of keeping order, and that we are beyond that now...
As for Phil and his "religion of peace" posts.. the fact is the Catholic church has killed, and is killing, more people than any other religion... look at Africa...
