My actual toilets are just fine, thanks to my preserving our old large-tank jobs and not having to replace them with the tiny microflush toilets forced on California by government and environmental idiots.
I don't know how caught up you are on how the board works now, so I'll just assume you don't already know this:
Current threads, and those with recent additions, remain "above the line," a little line across the screen that distinguished recently modified threads from older ones (I think the time a post remains current depends on the board.) However, if no new posts are added, the last one or two threads remain above the line forever. One can "flush" these down below the line by adding a new post. Now, as has always been the case, some threads tend to go on endlessly, moving far over to the right side of the page.
One or two of these were hanging on the Flame board for a long time, until some of us dropped new posts in specifically to "flush" these down and clear the board up.
Unfortunately, finding an old thread and adding a new reply...FLOATS THESE HUGE THREADS BACK UP TO THE TOP!
This frequently happens when people from out of nowhere, that nobody has ever heard of, sticks a reply into an ancient thread and brings it into the foreground again. God knows how they find the thread in the first place. It is wise to keep an eye on the date of a thread. We've had some pop back up to the top from months ago.
Now, two enormous floaters were revived this week, hence my post. Fortunately, they seem to be safely below the line again today.
Oops. A little backstory
