re: not much in the way of results

I did, but it was remarkably light on science results. Mostly some announcements about promotions/retirements and the like on the team, and a recap of what the rovers have been up to -- if you've been watching the daily status reports on the JPL site there wasn't much new there.

The plan for the next few days on Opportunity is to examine the trench in detail -- pancam, MI, spectrometers, etc on the bottom, walls, tailings, etc. Then over to "El Capitan" on the outcrop.

The long term plan, which I think is news, is to head over to the larger crater 600m away. In fact, it sounds like they want to do that soon, rather than spend a lot more time at this crater. Ie, they won't do three or four stations in detail on the outcrop, just El Capitan and then head over toward the much larger bedrock exposures of the other crater. At least I think that's what I heard, others correct me if wrong.

No report at all on those "interesting" spectra from 10 or 12 days ago, or anything else they learned on the survey of the outcrop.

Spirit just keeps pressing on towards Bonneville (now 200m to the rim), stopping to look at interesting rocks, if it sees any.
