SUV's...the American Way

We're addicted to size. Clever advertising, the American Way. I've noticed on highways, it seems at times almost HALF the vehicles on the roads are SUV's or Suburbans. Everyone's got em. Even here in Florida. And they're all over the neighbourhood. Two of em in every driveway. One for him, one for her. Some even match. 10-14 mpg. or less. You can't see in front of them while driving, you can't see behind you when they're there and they take up ALL the parking lots. (Got tired of trying to squeeze my big Mustang between em.)
Now these families don't go off road. They don't go camping.
They just go to work and back.
It's a size thing. "My truck is BIGGER than your truck".
"Looky here, I got one too". I wouldn't mind if they all lived in Colorado, but no, they don't take them anywhere but around the block.
And this clever advertising has us buying more OIL to fuel these beasts...get it yet?
OIL! And what do we do to get MORE oil?
Well,we pre-emptively invade small third world countries and take them over for their oil. While we're at it, we grab their banks too. Send over every available soldier, hide the bodies when they come back, cancel veteran's benefits, run up a seven trillion dollar deficit.......and call it
Freedom! Democracy!
Keep up with the Jones' America....live the American Dream with your maximum sized SUV, and get ready to start paying through the nose for gas. They'll look good as lawn ornaments as you'll want to drive them less and less. It's coming. Ever notice the car lots lately?
All SUV's!! Rows and rows of them. Zero down. Zero percent financing.
All hail GM and GWB.
