Thats why I'm betting that they are the remnants of some impact events.
perhaps as an impact occurs some of the moltant materials that are ejected form into shpericals thru some sort of electromagnetic or other force, and are then frozen in that shape as they cool.
Arn't ball bearing formed in this way in a low atmosphere drop chamber?
