Another observation on P/Ss

I suspect everyone knows this, it's common knowledge, and only in my little backwash of the world is (was) this a possibility.

My CPU wasn't stable at the speed it was supposed to be able to run. The motherboard manufacturer said it might be because the P/S was too small.

SO, along came a stroke of, well, a stroke. To test that possibility I opened the box, knowing I would never shut it again in my lifetime, but I did, and let one P/S power the 20-pin connection, and another all the rest.

Connected the power cord, and turned it on. Well, hit the switch. Nada. Nothing.

Seemed like a good idea at the time. I realize there is all manner of f/b, and the power supply is a dynamic affair, not just cranking out power indiscriminately, at least I think that's what I realize, actually I don't understand it at all, but it seemed as if it should have worked. Sort of like having one battery power the lights in you car, and another the radio and wipers.

Since I got 512 megs of upgraded RAM the thing has been stable at it's design speed.

So there it is. The results on a trial of one, me, and it's abject failure. My little contribution to nonsense and non-science.
