I do remember when they started firing the full complement of 5 F1s on the S1C tests. From my point of view on the army base you could hear a low rumble and a giant mushroom cloud would climb over the hills from the MSC side. I never got a chance to view one from the MSC side. One time Lady Bird Johnson came for a tour and they fired up a Saturn 1B first stage for her. I sneaked over to watch that.
