re: where in Huntsville?
I was 15-16 then and lived in the Lilly Flagg area, where Whitesburg intersects the S. Parkway.
My father worked at Marshall and we got to see one of the two unmanned Saturn 5 launches. As I recall, there were 2 sets of VIP stands, one close to the VAB and another farther away (5 miles??) on a causeway, which is where we were. The sound was the thing that I remember most, it was just overwhelming.
