There are a couple titles coming out in March that I'm very interested in buying (or, even better, getting for my birthday in April).
Those Magnificient Men and Their Flying Machines. I have not seen this movie in many years, but I remember it has some fantastic old airplanes from the 1910 era. Many of the planes are authentic and not just replicas.
Schlindler's List. I have no idea why Spielberg waited so long to release this movie in DVD, but I absolutely have to have it for my collection.
There are some other titles I want for my collection (200+ titles and growing). These include:
The Blue Max
633 Squadron
All Quiet on the Western Front. I have over 35 of the Academy Award "Best Picture" winners in my collection. There are quite a few of the early winners still missing. For example, "Wings" has not been released on DVD and I don't know if or when it will be.
I'm looking for other good airplane movies (already have one of the best ever made, "The Great Waldo Pepper" and some other good ones like "Twelve O'Clock High", "Battle of Britain", "Fly Away Home", and "The Right Stuff") not only because I love airplanes, but as part of my grand strategy to persuade my coming grandson (due June 12th) to become a pilot. I've already picked out the bedding set for his crib. Last weekend, I found a teddy bear that came with a leather flying jacket, cap, and goggles. This kid is either going to love airplanes or end up hating them.
