Isolation

I don't think a lot of people realize how localized the information flow is. Most of what we see in the media is liberals selling talking points, and other liberals responding to those talking points. Conservatives or others that echo or support those talking points are quoted. Nobody else. No counterarguments, nothing that screws up the Democratic agenda.

I think sometimes about what you don't see at all in the mainstream news. When was the last time you saw any extended story on a Ryan speech? Unless he makes a flub, he doesn't exist. How many outraged stories were there about Obama campaigning in Vegas after the 9/11 embassy attacks? How many do you think there would have been if it had been Bush? Bush quit golfing early in his administration after a couple of dozen games. He got constant shit about it.

Obama? Over 100 golf games and counting, including one while New Orleans was being hit by another hurricane on the anniversary of the original disaster.

Put it this way, if everything else was the same--economy, foreign issues, etc.--and the parties were reversed, the same people calling Obama a genius would be calling the president the worst one in America's history.
