Thanks for the observations. However, I never doubted these things are concretions. I just wonder whether they concreted into numerous voids left in the matrix by something so far unexplained. (Numerous voids more easily explained by a frothy igneous extrusion, perhaps, than decaying bryozoans, but that igneous theory was "dampened" by NASA today.) What is your explanation of the dimples that are observed? Two is coincidence, but three is a conspiracy--or maybe a taxonomic identifier. Please amplify on the nature of the metal lathe that produced the observed spiral. ( I see possible segmentation, but did not mention a spiral. Do you see a spiral in the "rotini"?) think we should rely on coincidence. There is some fairly uniform process at work. Crystal growth is pretty uniform. So is biology. In my defense, I had much better grades in subjects other than paleo.
