Dimples and spirals
Dimples:
We've seen how wind erosion wears away all but the stalk of the attachment. At some point, the bead will fall off. Perhaps at that point it tears a small circular blemish?
Two adjacent spheres may come into contact - if they don't merge into a dumbell, they will interfere
Spirals:
My spiral interpretation refers to the object discussed here:
and seen in the original size here. To me it looks like a spiral swarf caught in a crack, not a pre-existing feature exposed by grinding. I could be wrong, of course...
