re: Lunar bases

Didn't that guy "Success Machine" come up with a theoretical model for robotically assembling crude solar panels from common materials on the Moon.

Then using the electricity to smelt aluminum from native materials.

I thought it was an intriguing thought. Especially with O2 as a by-product of that process?

It would seem to me that with free solar panels, hence electricity, aluminum and O2, it would be easy to come up with a dome which could be electrostatically precipitated against a lightweight bubble put in place by people.

The thickness of the dome could be almost anything, given that the materials and energy were of local origin.
