The Moon is a place where anything that could have erupted, has erupted, could have collapsed, has collapsed, could have cracked, has cracked.
Now it's all motionless, except for micrometeorites.
If there are lava tubes, there are very few of them and not necessarily where we'd rather put a moonbase, as there are more interesting places than others on the Moon.
