What about all the Homeland Security alerts?
Tom Ridge saying we aren't safe, the perpetual yellow alert, bouncing up to orange on everlasting "credible information", often the ramblings of one Guantanamo prisoner, wouldn't that make these towers dangerous?
Obviously, the start of construction would have to wait until the election. Bush is reported to want to receive the nomination on that site, and the commercials would need to be filmed there.
But it doesn't make sense to me to build these humongous buildings anymore. I mean, they look sort of like fun, but so is the world's largest Ferris wheel.
