the problem with generators

the biggest problem with generators are that they are lousy in the rain. When the tires are wet ther's not enough friction to run it. I always thought there must be a better generator design out there that was wired into the hub instead. I've never seen aything like it though. Also friction generators can get bumped and really make it hard to pedal occasionally. After using a friction generator for a few months I bought an LED tail light and a handlebar mounted headlight.
