I'm happy to see we've both arrived at that same conclusion, independently, on that question (see my post above).
Unlike some of our friends here, I often feel the need for a reality check, an independent verification of my thought processes to help me rule out unintentional bias and ideological influence on my conclusions. I am not absolutely certain I am always totally right all the time, and I strive to maintain a certain level of self-criticism and balance.
Indeed, part of the confusion on this particular issue has been because the Libya event and the other incidents throughout the Muslim world were only tangentially connected. They are related, certainly not isolated or accidental, but neither are they part of a massive, unified conspiracy. The distinction is a subtle one, and like most nuanced interpretations, seems to be beyond the capacity of our conservative friends to grasp.
