Intelligence, extinction and what's next?
Apparently there have been cataclysmic extinction of life on this sphere a number of times, all of which have combined to lead to Homo Sapiens.
Now, if one looks at the intelligence packed into bird brains, one can only wonder how bright dinosaurs were.
All of which leads me to wonder what form of life and intelligence would occur if another cataclysmic extinction occurred?
I somehow don't think it would be, so to speak, the end of the world.
And something a quantum leap forward could occur. For instance, a brain which could reprogram itself as conditions changed, instead of adopting attitudes in infancy which stayed relatively the same throughout life.
