Ancient plant and animal species that live today
I like having ancient plant species in my garden. I've got a ginkgo, tulip tree and a bunya pine. My neighbor has a redwood tree in his garden. I'd like to have some horsetails growing in a pot (they're an invasive plant so they have to remain in a pot). All of these species lived during the Cretaceous or predated the era. There are numerous animals that predate the Cretaceous, e.g. dragon flies, sharks, nautilus, horseshoe crab, etc. Why weren't these spieces wiped out by the K-T event?
