If it were Bellatrix, between the belt and that Star, we should see a string of white dots (M42 and others), not just two.
If it were Betelgeuse, why are there only two stars in between? According to Starry Night on my PC, there are a number of stars between the belt and Betelgeuse and not just two shining more than the others.
