I bet the parachute folks would love a look at one or both of their shoots. I saw a show on how they tested and perfected the chutes for this mission. I thought chutes were pretty much chutes. I didn’t realize they had to be customized for every mission. The first chutes they tested ripped. I believer too much air was getting through.
It would be neat to get a view of those items for engineering proposes, but the who idea behind the chute and heat shield was to get a working rover on Mars. It wouldn’t make much sense to jeopardize the science mission to look at those, unless they were near the path the Rovers were taking.
The heat shield looks close enough, but the parachute and back shell are too far. Maybe opportunity could look at its parachute and back shell.
