First, you have to forget that the US opened a Pandora's Box with it's firebombing of civilian populations in WWII, both in Germany and Japan. It was a deliberate effort to kill civilians, even when there were military targets. The US doesn't have clean skirts. The US is familiar with terrorism from both sides.
The US was quite careless with civilian lives in Vietnam.
Second, you have to ignore the fact that the US invaded a relatively harmless Third World country half a world away with no valid reason and killed and is killing thousands upon thousands of innocent civilians. That was after invading Afghanistan and killing and continuing to kill thousands of innocent civilians.
And had some allies.
Now, ignoring all that and more, you can take the moral high ground when an enemy attacks and causes casualties. You say they should not do what you've done, in spades.
On top of that, forget that GWB & Co. were in power when 9-11 occurred, and according to at least one credible source, the Republican chair of the commission appointed by GWB, that event could have been prevented. Forget that GWB won't tell us what he knew, if he could have prevented it, and leaves us to draw our own conclusions. (And these were people who "outed" a covert CIA agent.)
Now you can act like an innocent victim. Takes really, really working over your mind, though. Ignoring facts, truth, evidence, reality.
