My Filipino wife says that short haired dog tastes better than long haired dog, but she isn't sure why. She says that dog adobo is very good. She's never served me dog (I think), but she has eaten it many times, just never here in the States.
Just about every culture eats something that causes most other people to cringe, especially if they've never tried it. A lot of Chinese people eat cats as well as dogs. The French eat snails and horses. How many people cringe at the thought of eating sushi but have never tried it (I love sushi).
Some people say we should celebrate diversity, but then cringe when another does something they don't like, such as eating animals we consider pets.
