Well...

To tell you the truth, I'm still not sure if the site is a parody or not. The FAQ is a bit suspicious, with lines like

"Dogs LOVE hurricanes, too, which we recently discovered!",

and

"Every now and then some dogs gang up and kill and then eat another dog, but this is just natural, and it's okay for it to happen now and then, but normally this is not the case."

Or this little gem, about "pretraining" your dog to live on Dog Island:

"Certain things you can do is to start finding rodents and squirrels for the terriers to kill. This is his natural instinct and without that outlet, he will look towards other dogs and even sometimes babies. We can't have that happening." (No, of course not, that would never do.)

And it was fascinating to learn that in the winter dogs are outfitted with thermal underwear made from angora rabbit fur. Given normal canine instincts, the phrase "eat my shorts!" come to mind. Ouch.

But knowing my fellow countrymen as I do, I wouldn't swear that this is a parody.

The thing about parody is that if it's good, it conveys basic truths about its subject. So, reality or parody, yep, we Americans are complete whackjobs.

Puts our new national motto, "yer either with us, or yer agin' us", in a whole new and scary light, doesn't it?
