has to be prepared to literally take a bullet to protect Kerry, it would seem that treating him with such disrespect is a really dumb idea. Should the unthinkable happen, all it would take is a split second's hesitation on the agent's part for Kerry to be hit.

Many years ago when I was still in the Air Force, I heard a story about a new fighter wing commander who treated the enlisted troops like crap. He was constantly berating and cussing out the people who serviced his planes. One day, as he was getting ready to take off, his crew chief stopped him. He'd noticed that someone had wired is parachute with baling wire so that it couldn't open. Given that that person also had complete access to the plane, it would've been a simple matter to sabotage it so that he would've had to eject, only to streamer to the ground. According to the story, he treated the enlisted troops with a lot more respect after that.

The story quite likely isn't true, but it does make a point. It's very dumb to piss off and piss on people that can literally save your life, or end it. John "Do you know who I am?" Kerry may never have learned that lesson.
