Actually, nothing in that post is "mine". The comment about "nearby" paraphrases a part of the article I didn't quote.
The body of the post is all from the article. I did select the parts to quote, and thereby may have slanted something unfairly, though that wasn't my intention.
The only "agenda" I have of which I'm aware is a hope that some civilization won't find us. Given how we treat our own species when it's a bit different than we, I wouldn't trust how another whole entire kind of being would treat us.
