Frankly, I think the BLS statistics leave quite a bit to be desired anyway. Nobody has explained to my satisfaction, for example, the huge discrepancies between household and payroll statistics.

You can go to their statistics page and play with the numbers yourself if you want. I've found out many interesting things this way.
