Moon rocks and radiation?
Interesting ideas, but two things bother me:
If this is radiation-induced discoloration, why so strong on certainly rocks only? Has Mazatal really been exposed that much longer than anything else around? Seems unlikely.
And, we know Moon rocks are even more exposed -- no atmospheric attenuation at all, and they are likely to be exposed much longer since they don't get buried in dust. Has anyone ever noted wierd colors in Moon rocks due to their radiation exposure? There were some glassy beads (pyroclastics) found, and glassy surfaces on some rocks (micro-impact melts).
