When I was in high school there were about four of those things there, three driven by students, the other by a teacher.
I had no idea BMW made them, or why there were so many in a midlin’ sized town in NE Okla.
In spite of my sneering at them back then I always thought they were kind of neat. (So I drove a very radical 57 Chev with a Mighty Mouse Motor. My how life changes.)
