Justin quoted the following from the "Washington Times":

>"We were looking for symbols of economic might," he told his
>captors.
>
>He specifically mentioned as potential targets the Library Tower
>in Los Angeles, which was "blown up" in the film "Independence
>Day," and the Sears Tower in Chicago.

My whacky theory:

The al Qaeda towel heads used "independence Day" as their
prototype for 9/11. That movie very clearly showed what put "the fear of God" in Americans. All al Qaeda had to do was play upon that basic fear.

What amazes me is the evil bastards didn't grasp the main theme
of "Independence Day", i.e. even though the United States was brought to near total ruin by an unprovoked sneak attack, we never gave up and immediately came back to annihilate our enemy. Bin Laden and his henchmen are idiots!
