Here's a list of the Times columnists. Take the sum of their IQ's, divide by 10 and see how you stack up. Funny how some liberals have a hard time commenting on anything they don't agree with without using terms like idiot, moron, obtuse.
You seem to have missed the point. The fact that the Moonies can afford to pay the salaries of bright columnists doesn't mean the newspaper isn't an embarassment compared to regular newspapers. When the Moonies bought UPI, Helen Thomas quit because she refused to allow herself to be used to sell Moonie propaganda. Didja notice that 9 of the columnists on your list are conservatives and the other is an anti-abortion libertarian? Do you know the difference between news and propaganda?
As for liberals calling convervatives "idiots, morons and obtuse," the practice is based on observable phenomena and has a long and happy tradition.
"Not all conservatives are stupid, but most stupid people are conservatives." -John Stuart Mill.
And that was before conservatives voted to keep an Alzheimer's-ridden dunce in the presidency, and then voted for a lackluster lapdog and his vacuous boy blunder, Danny Quayle. It was before conservatives voted for a immature imbecile who doesn't read. Then as now, stupid is as stupid does. Some conservatives may be of normal intelligence, some may even be brighter than average, but the majority seem to be Quaylish.
Your recent posts pertaining to Bob Kerrey's electability were a good example of the stupidity that's become a defining characteristic of conservatives. It could be argued that the rest of us should kindly overlook the intellectual shortcomings of those who don't know any better, and perhaps that would be the pravailing practice if not for the fact that so many conservatives are obnoxious gasbags who need puncturing for the good of society.
I could easily say that anyone that feels that way about the Times is an idiot. We are not talking about the Enquirer bozo. We are talking about a newspaper you don't agree with.
Of course you could say that, and it wouldn't be surprising if you did, given the typical conservative disregard for facts and truth. Conservatives are the Fredos of American society, constantly whining, "I have an opinion! I want respect!" Perhaps when the day comes that you actually have a valid opinion, an opinion worth respecting, it will be treated as such. Until then, treating your opinions with respect woud be undeserved charity. (And ya know how you conservatives feel about undeserved charity.)
