re: Correct about what?
The Bush administration whipped up American public opinion to ... a fervor over what were essentially erroneous claims, and that made it easy for the nation to give the Bush admin license to pull the trigger

LA Times
Two-thirds believe Bush has failed to make the case an attack would be justified. Many think weapons are there, but they want proof.
The overwhelming majority of respondents — 90% — said they do not doubt that Iraq is developing weapons of mass destruction. But in the absence of new evidence from U.N. inspectors, 72% of respondents, including 60% of Republicans, said the president has not provided enough evidence to justify starting a war with Iraq.[Some "fervor"]
Congress gave Bush the license. You don’t have to excuse the “Nationâ€.

Most of your post reflects the way the world should work and I wish it did work that way but I don’t think it does. Recent history should be a wake up call to those of us who still watch “It’s a Wonderful Life†each Christmas.

I always like to read what you have to say Mcfly, and I could have easily arrived at your position myself but, in light of the UN oil-for-food program scandal, believing that the UN and the ROW would have placed the interests of the US above that of their own financial gain is questionable at best and otherwise just another form of “self–deceptionâ€.
