Here's the idea:

The state of a particle is teleported at the speed of light across an unlimited distance without a line-of-sight to an entangled partner. The state information includes such things as momentum, which is equivelent to energy. Therefore energy is teleported without a line-of-sight.

Conventional photometers detect particles by converting them into electrical signals, thereby destroying them. Photometers may be considered a means of beaming energy across arbitrary distances, as long as there is a line of sight for the transmitter, e.g. a laser or microwave beam.

In contrast a state-of-the-art Quantum Non-Demolition (QND) detection can measure the state of a particle, but only if it doesn't absorb energy from it. Absorbing energy from the system would cause it to decohere, and no longer share the same properties as its formerly-entangled partner.

How do we combine there two technologies - to achieve beam power without a line of sight? A plausible scenario would have two quantum registers at the receiving end, one which remains entangled with the transmitter at all times, and another which is alternately either entangled or "read" by a conventional photometer in a highly periodic manner.

So we have a plausible process: The transmitter is recharged with energy, half of which is teleported to the receiver. At the receiver register #1 is isolated and remains entangled, while energy is released from register #2. After all the energy is tapped register #1 is used to re-establish entanglement with the transmitter. This process is repeated at gigahertz rates, supplying pulsed energy to devices anywhere in the solar system.

Giant solar energy mines orbiting Mercury or Venus for example, could transmit their power elsewhere using this method, e.g. to Mars or the Moon, or the outer solar system where solar energy is scarce. Transportation systems everywhere could benefit.

Solar energy farms on Earth could be located in the hottest deserts. Windfarms could be located in the windiest places. Their energy could be delivered anywhere on earth without transmission lines, wherever it is needed.
