The Palestinians--at least those currently in power--don't want a state. They want Israel and the Jews dead. Failure to recognize their actual goals is one of the problems everyone has been having in trying to negotiation with them.

This attitude is just fine with the rest of the Arab world, which has kicked most Palestinians out of their own nations, and finds them very useful confined to ghettos and stoked with murderous hate. Cannon fodder for the sheiks and leaders.

The new and unpleasant tendency for Israel to blow away Palestinian terror leaders instead of impoverished and desperate Palestinian flunkies or uneducated kids is not going over well with these same Palestinian leaders.

When was the last time someone like Arafat wrapped a bomb belt around themselves instead of some poor dupe?
